Permanent Makeup

Is permanent makeup painful or not?

It does differ from person to person, but the general answer is NO. We apply a topical anaesthetic cream before starting a procedure. There might be a slight discomfort, but most clients feel nothing at all.

How often do you need to do a retouch?

The results from your initial permanent makeup procedure will generally last 1.5-3 years with minimal fading. We recommend that you schedule this appointment once you notice that your PMU is beginning to fade, or some areas begin to appear lighter than others.

Does permanent makeup look natural?

Rather than providing a dramatic look, permanent makeup can look very natural. By implanting pigment on your brows, lips, or eyelids, you can get the effect of having makeup on all the time. That means that your makeup always looks fresh, even when you first wake up in the morning.

How many sessions are needed?

Permanent makeup is a process. A new set of permanent makeup procedures takes two appointments to complete: the initial session and a touch-up session. In some cases, it could be a multiple-session process.

What should I avoid after permanent makeup?

DO NOT PICK, PEEL, OR SCRATCH the treated area, or your colour may heal unevenly, and you risk scarring and infection. No makeup is to be applied for 72 hours (three days) after the procedure on the tattoo area. After any eyeliner procedure, use new mascara for the first 10 days after the 3 days of no makeup.

What fades permanent makeup?

Lots of things can affect how permanent makeup fades-sun exposure, medications, skincare products, and even your skin's ability to retain colour. I don't see this as a drawback but as an opportunity to keep your look fresh and up-to-date.

Am I a candidate for permanent makeup?

If any of the following are true, it is very likely that you will benefit from permanent makeup. - Sparse eyebrows/lashes - No eyebrows/lashes - Alopecia patients - Mobility limitations - Limited vision - Allergies to topical makeup - Tired of applying makeup but want to look awake and polished - Want to save time in the morning!

What not to do before permanent makeup?

Avoid any tanning (including spray tans) for several weeks prior to your permanent makeup procedure. If you are a smoker, stop smoking at least 6 weeks prior to your treatment to promote quicker healing. Avoid taking any anti-inflammatory drugs, aspirin or other medications that may cause increased bleeding. Stay hydrated.

What does permanent makeup look like?

The results can mimic eyeliner, lip colour, eyebrows, and even scalp hair. Unlike regular body art tattoos, permanent cosmetics use lighter pigment and delicate techniques to achieve a subtle, soft effect. The pigment will gradually fade over 1-3 years, meaning touch-up visits are required to maintain results.

How long after permanent makeup can I shower?

DO NOT WASH THE PROCEDURE FOR 24-48 HOURS! Avoid for 10 days: Makeup (on procedure area, Extreme Sweating, Swimming, Tanning, Hot Sauna, and Laser/Chemical/Botox Treatments. Use a cotton swab to apply Aquaphor Ointment throughout the day for 2-4 weeks (the area should never be dry).

Why is permanent makeup not permanent?

In fact, permanent makeup tends to fade faster and more than body art. The reasons have to do with the colour of pigment we use and the constant exposure of the face to the elements, more so than anywhere else on the body.

Am I the right age to get permanent makeup?

For some people, it's thinking they're not the "right" age. The good news is that, as long as you're an adult over 18, there's no issue with getting permanent makeup applied. Clients range in age from young adults to seniors - even quite a few who are in their 90's.

Should I receive a facial?

Facials are professional, tailored skincare treatments that deeply cleanse, exfoliate, and hydrate the skin while promoting collagen production and relaxation. Ideally performed every 3-4 weeks to match the skin’s cell turnover cycle, they provide long-term benefits like improved texture, increased circulation, and anti-aging effects. Tailored Care: No two faces are alike, so facials are customized to address specific concerns like acne, dryness, or aging. Deep Exfoliation: They remove dead skin cells more effectively than at-home products, enhancing skin cell turnover. Boosts Circulation: Massage techniques used during a facial increase blood flow, which brings oxygen to the skin and aids in collagen production.Safe Extractions: Professionals safely remove whiteheads without causing scarring, unlike picking at home.Skincare Ingredient Penetration: Facials allow high-quality serums and masks to penetrate deeper into the skin.

When and Why to Get a Facial?

Frequency: To maintain optimal results, it is recommended to get a professional facial roughly every 3-4 weeks (or once a month). Immediate Results: You should leave with a healthy, radiant "glow”. Not Just for Problem Skin: Even those with clear skin can benefit from regular hydration and maintenance. Preventative Care: Regular treatments can slow down the skin aging process and manage acne before it worsens. Relaxation: Beyond aesthetics, the massage component reduces stress, which improves overall skin health.

What does Laser Theatment do?

Facts about Laser Therapy: Laser treatments use focused light tuned to specific wavelengths to precisely target tissue while minimizing damage to the surrounding area. They are widely used for both cosmetic improvements, such as hair removal and skin resurfacing, and medical procedures like tumor removal or vision correction. Common Applications Skin Resurfacing: Treats wrinkles, sun damage, and acne scars by stimulating new collagen and elastin production. Hair Removal: Targets melanin in hair follicles to damage them and prevent future growth. While highly effective, it is technically defined as "permanent hair reduction" rather than 100% elimination. Vascular and Pigment Issues: Specific wavelengths target hemoglobin to treat rosacea and spider veins, or melanin to remove sunspots and tattoos.

What is the essential preparation?

Sun Protection: You must avoid the sun for several weeks both before and after treatment. Lasers cannot be used on tanned or sunburned skin as it significantly increases the risk of burns. Medication Disclosure: Some supplements (like Vitamin E) and medications (like blood thinners or retinoids) must be stopped before treatment to ensure proper healing. Not Just for Light Skin: Early lasers were limited to high-contrast skin and hair, but modern technologies like Nd:YAG lasers are now safe and effective for darker skin tones. Pain Levels: Most modern systems use cooling tips or numbing creams, making the sensation feel like a "rubber band snap" or mild pinpricks rather than intense pain.

Are there risks or side effects?

Temporary Effects: Common reactions include redness, swelling, and a sensation similar to a sunburn for a few hours to days.

How many Treatments should I get?

Usually 1 to 3 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results, based on the condition treated and individual skin goals.

What is the Downtime & Recovery time?

- Typical Downtime: Approximately 5-10 days depending on intensity. - Initial Healing Phase: Skin appears red and slightly swollen immediately post-treatment, transitioning into mild peeling and flaking within the first week. - Full Recovery: Noticeable skin improvement visible after approximately 2-4 weeks, with continual improvement up to 6 months post-treatment as collagen regenerates.

What are the Commonly Treated Conditions?

- Fine lines and deep wrinkles - Acne scars and surgical scars - Sun-damaged skin and pigmentation issues - Uneven skin texture and tone - Enlarged pores - Skin laxity and stretch marks

What is Factional Laser?

Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing Treatment is a high-intensity, skin resurfacing treatment that uses microscopic, targeted, and fractionated beams of carbon dioxide light to remove damaged, aged skin layer by layer. By leaving surrounding tissue intact, it stimulates intense collagen production with faster healing compared to traditional lasers, addressing deep wrinkles, acne scars, sun damage, and skin laxity.
